Our
story
The whole life of the Old Believers is subordinated to the Word of God. It is faith that helped to create and preserve this special cultural and historical phenomenon inherent only to Old Believers. Although our Society is not a religious organization, we focus on identifying and preserving the unique cultural traditions of the Old Believers in Latvia and other Baltic States.
It is believed that for centuries, the Old Believers have been living in 2 identities - the ancestral archaic and the modernist spirit. And there is no contradiction! The world is changing rapidly, so in order not to lose identity, we need to move with the times, constantly adapting to new circumstances. That is why, today, preserving our cultural code is of particular importance. We have accepted this challenge and invite all those who care about the future of Old Believers to actively participate in our projects. See you soon!
